Overton Right There Heading Into Weekend

Baby Boomer front runner Jeff Overton continued the solid play today by shooting another three under par, 67. He briefly held the lead outright, but unfortunately dropped a couple shots on the back nine. Obviously he is just planning on flying under the radar until making a weekend charge. So go ahead, Yong-Eun (Y.E.)YANG, have your little 36 hole lead, but just know that Jeff is in the rear view mirror and looking to pass.

James Nitties also shot minus three in round two, and in case you aren’t familiar with James, he is the one with the tattoo on his left arm (I think it’s the left) that the commentators like talking about. Tat and all, look for James to keep up the hot play this weekend. The guy’s got game, and he’ll prove it this weekend. On to my picks…

MY BOY Rory shot a 68 and is sitting comfortably T-13, and ready to ROAR up the leaderboard this weekend (get it, ROAR, Rory, yes very funny). Unfortunately, Rory was the only shining light among the three picks I made. Camilo Villegas and Ryan Moore both missed the cut, but I’m not holding it against them. They are just too good to stay down long, so while they didn’t help much with my oh so important picks this week, they’ll more than likely rebound next week at Doral.

Top BBs: Jeff Overton (-6, T-2), James Nitties (-3, T-7), Rory Mcilroy (-2, T-13), John Merrick (-2, T-13), Spencer Levin (E, T-27)
