U.S. Open Update

It’s been all about the luck of the draw at this year’s U.S. Open, with half of the field playing under sunny skies and the rest playing under a flood watch. It’s all part of the game though, so you won’t hear any players complaining about it. Well, maybe Sergio will complain, but he can find something wrong with just about anything, so we won’t pay attention if he does.

Former U.S. Amatuer winner Ricky Barnes holds the lead through two rounds at eight under par, after two stellar rounds of 67 and 65. It’s been a long road for Ricky since winning the U.S. Amatuer, as he was tabbed as the next big star after winning the event in 2002. However, he has spent the last couple of years grinding it out on the mini tours. All of the hard work and dedication has paid off though, as he sits atop of the leader board at our national championship after setting a 36 hole scoring record. Time will tell whether or not he’ll be able to stay composed under the pressure of weekend play at a major championship.

Tiger has made the cut, so even though he’s eleven shots back of Barnes, you never count him out if he still has holes to play. For official live U.S. Open updates and scores, be sure to visit the U.S. Open’s website!
