Rain Causes Delay At U.S. Open
Posted on 18. Jun, 2009 by H. Freeman in Leaderboard
It’s raining cats and dogs on the first day of the U.S. Open, which means there aren’t many birdies to be seen on the course right now. Get it!?! Yes!!!
Sorry about that, just couldn’t resist. Anyway, the U.S. Open is the toughest tournament to play in terms of being a mental grind, and having to sit in a locker room not knowing when you are actually going to play does nothing to help.
Putting my weather man hat on for a second, it doesn’t look like any more golf will be played today, but obviously that could change, as most weather predictions do.
Until then, here are some notable scores from the few that actually played through the mini-monsoon this morning:
Tiger Woods: +1 thru 6
Darron Stiles: Has not teed off but is from my hometown, so that’s notable (What up Asheville, NC)
Vijay Singh: +1 thru 8
Ian Poulter (Twitter): Even thru 7
Ryan Moore: +1 thru 6
Geoff Ogilvy (Puma Man): +1 thru 5
Check out live scoring at the official U.S. Open website. Also check back for my take on it all!
